It’s been awesome. It’s been a good community to work and raise a family. - Dale Rempel

After 19 years in Morris, Rempel Insurance Brokers Ltd. broke ground for their new office building on Oct. 20. Owners, Dale and Lynn Rempel moved back to their home town in 1990 when they purchased an insurance brokerage called “Remple Insurance”. After changing the spelling to reflect their name, Dale and Lynn took over. “It was a two person operation,” Rempel said. “We’ve just had a great business plan and we’ve had some great niche markets.” With more than 10 insurance professionals, Rempel Insurance, along with Dale’s Hail (Dale set up that company when he started university), offer autopac, personal farm, agriculture, trucking and other commercial and crop insurance. Rempel said insuring long haul truckers and farmers has been their bread and butter. “In southern Manitoba trucking is a very strong industry,” he said. “But we have clients all over Manitoba.” Dale got his start selling insurance in Winkler in 1983 after working in the ag chemical industry. Rempel said he’s happy to invest in the community he’s known and loved for their new 3,500 square foot office. “It’s been awesome,” Rempel said. “It’s been a good community to work and raise a family.”

The new location is at the corner of Main St. and Railroad Ave. with a completion date of spring 2010. Morris mayor Dale Hoffman was happy to see it. “We are very pleased Rempel Insurance has the confidence in the community and are planning to construct their new building here,” he said.
