Nathan and Suzy Hiebert welcomed their second child, an adorable dark-haired son on Oct. 26. Both mom and baby are doing very well, and so is big brother, two-year-old Bailey who is generous with hugs and kisses for little brother Griffin Cole, who tipped the scales at 8 lbs 13 oz. Griffin has quite a lineup of ancestors to look up to! There are the maternal great-grandparents Isaac and Katherina Friesen; and maternal grandparents, John and Katherina Krahn, all of Winkler. On his daddy's side, there are grandparents Bill and Mary Hiebert of Winkler. Surrounded with a loving family and kind neighbors, both Griffin and Bailey can look forward to happy growing-up years!
A new chapter
Farming runs in the family for Edward Giesbrecht. His father was a grain farmer; Ed was raised on the farm and went into farming for himself in 1969, and he's still involved in that occupation. But after 40 years on the farm, and 32 of those years after marriage to Grace, a move was made. Plum Coulee has always been his stomping grounds, so it was logical for Ed and Grace to make their next move into the town of Plum Coulee. They raised two daughters and one son on the farm north of town. However son Kevin and his wife Alyson moved from town to take up residence on the family farm north of Coulee. We welcome Ed and Grace to their new residence on Sunset Bay!
Pumpkin prizes posted
Third prize went to Susie Peters of Reinfeld! Her pumpkin was the one with the big smile carved in. Capturing second prize was Lisa Braun's silver-toothed pirate! First prize of $200 went to the big pumpkin carved into a big rose with smaller rose buds around it. The imaginative creator of this intricate design is Isaac Dyck, who is currently living in Winkler.
